About LawGuru

What is LawGuru?

LawGuru is a platform for legal help in South Africa, in two separate parts. It is forming a panel of attorneys and advocates for people and companies who need legal help. Separately, it offers law firms software for their practice: LawHero and LawAngel.

Is LawGuru a law firm? Does it give legal advice?

No. LawGuru is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. The attorneys and advocates on the panel give the legal advice, under their own professional rules.

For attorneys and advocates

How do I join the panel?

Tell us about your practice with the form on the page for attorneys and advocates. We will be in touch to talk about the work you do and the listing's terms. The panel is still being formed, so nobody is listed yet.

What does it cost to be listed?

Nothing. Being listed on LawGuru's panel is free.

Do I need LawHero or LawAngel to be listed?

No. The listing is separate from the software. You do not need LawHero or LawAngel to be on the panel, and using them does not get you listed or bring you clients.

The software

What are LawHero and LawAngel?

Software for law firms, offered separately from the panel. LawHero runs the practice: a front desk that takes down new clients' stories, the conflict check, FICA, quotes, letters of engagement signed online, deposits and the trust account, invoices, the diary, and a secure page for every client. LawAngel brings research, drafting and review into Microsoft Word. The software page says more.

Your details and contact

What does LawGuru do with the details I send, and where are they kept?

LawGuru keeps what you type into a form, only to answer you: we do not sell your details or use them for anything else. They are stored encrypted on our servers with a hosting company in Germany, in the European Union, and only LawGuru's own team can open them. We keep them for up to two years, as the privacy notice explains. This website sets no cookies, uses no tracking or advertising tools, and keeps no log of visits.

How do I contact LawGuru?

Use the contact page, or email support@lawguru.direct. To report a security problem in LawGuru, LawHero or LawAngel, email security@lawguru.direct. LawGuru's team reads these messages; they cannot give legal advice.
